Refunds

We highly encourage everyone who registers, to play, as it puts the league and the teams in a bind when an athlete is included in the number of people on the team and then changes their mind. In addition, when capping registration to create correctly sized teams, it means someone else doesn't get to play. Please discuss the amount of work and time commitment with your family and athlete before registering. However, we understand that circumstances arise where an athlete is unable to play or changes their mind. To request a refund, please email vp@lhyfc.org with your child's name and the reason for the refund.

  • Prior to uniforms being ordered: Full refund.
  • After uniforms have been ordered: Partial refund, less the cost of uniforms.
  • After the first day of camp: No refunds for any reason.

IMPORTANT: 50% of Registration Costs will be Non-Refundable!!
(specifically regarding zoning, please ensure you are registering for the proper league based on the LHISD zoning map for 9th Grade)

6th Grade Shout Outs!

We are creating a league program that includes all football teams and cheer squads to be sold at home games during the Fall 2024 season.

We are offering a 1/6 of a page Shout Out ads for 6th grade football players and cheerleaders ONLY. These ads are $50 and will consist of 1 photo and a message to your athlete that is 2-3 short sentences. They are approximately 4 inches x 3.6 inches in size. A member of the board will put together the ad and email a proof to the email provided in the ad registration in late July.

Ad purchases will open and be shared with all 6th Grade Athletes by June 30th, 2024.

FAQ's about fall registration

*If you did not play with the LHYFC last season, you will need to make an account through Sports Engine. If you did play last season, your previous log in will work.

*If you have been in other programs/sports that use Sports Engine, you may already have a Sports Engine account. In that case, you will still use the link, but can log in to that account on the registration page and access our registration through it.

*You can register multiple football players or multiple cheerleaders in the same session. If you are registering a football player and a cheerleader, you will need to register and pay for each kid you are registering individually.

Why is it making me choose “waitlist”?

This means that the division and team you are trying to register for is full. You can add your child to the waitlist for that division. If enough kids continue to register AND depending on Coach availability, another team will open and the people on the waitlist will be invoiced.

Why did my kid have to go on a waitlist?

As a volunteer organization, we rely on significant parent involvement. In order to make a football and cheer team, we must have the right number of players for the age group AND qualified coaches. We cannot create teams if we don’t have the parents to help coach. If you are interested in helping coach, click on the Registration tab on the website and fill out the registration for coaches.

How long will I be waitlisted?

Until enough players register that it warrants opening another team AND providing the league can find a qualified volunteer coach.

What happens if I don’t ever get off the waitlist?

We try to include as many kids as possible that want to play. Unfortunately, with the growth of our town, that is not always feasible. If a player does not make a team due to waitlists or cuts, we encourage them to keep working hard and try again next year!

Why is the cost more this year?

With the growth we are experiencing and the split between LHMS and SRMS, the league is incurring costs for more equipment (practice pads, footballs, training gear, etc) and fees for officials. In addition, we made camp required and included that cost in the registration fee.

Why is camp required?

Camp is an excellent opportunity for the athletes to meet the kids they will be playing with, get the feel for some of the drills they will be doing once practice starts, and acclimate to the summer heat before they are in pads and helmets. It is also a great time for coaches to see what the kids know and can do to help determine what position or team where they will fit best. We understand there are conflicts with everyone making it to camp, but we would like as many kids as possible to attend. Camp is particularly important for the varsity (5th & 6th) to determine possible team splits. Kids that don’t attend may be moved once coaches are able to evaluate them. Camp counts towards HCYFL conditioning days for all grade levels and kids that miss will be behind on the conditioning schedule that allows them to practice in full pads. We will not refund any money for being unable to attend camp.

Interested in volunteering?

  • Click on the Register to Coach link above. This will collect the information needed for the required background check for all volunteers.
  • Once we have that info, the Football or Cheer Director will reach out to you about the division and team your athlete is on to see what kind of help we could use.  If you have no experience in coaching, but would be willing to help out in some capacity, please fill out the Register to Coach link to start the volunteer process.
  • Check out the LHYFC Bylaws (Coaching Personnel) to read more about how coaches are appointed.
